My cousin read somewhere that one father held his baby tightly in his lap inside a collapsing building. They found them together with baby still in lap and father protecting the baby. The father died, the baby survived. Sad stuff...

Probably +200K lying dead in the ruins just in Turkey.
More than 10K buildings collapsed and another 100K buildings still standing but can't be lived in anymore.

It's like five years of war happened overnight, crazy, but they've been slacking with building permits for years not making their buildings as safe as they were supposed to.

Official numbers will probably be much less...

I have recently heard that Syria's civil war is not divulging the correct numbers , and part of the reason man power.
