Might not be a bad idea. We need to execute more people and much quicker. We do need to have stricter criterias of proof before anyone is given capital punishment in the US though. We still give people the death penalty in the US for circumstantial evidence and single witness accounts. That needs to stop. Confession from a person with an 80 IQ or higher, multiple unrelated witnesses, DNA evidence combined with another form of direct evidence, video evidence, etc.

Like some of these mass shooters, where there are multiple witnesses and/or video evidence. It should be execution within a week of conviction.

Like I said in my post. People should be given the death penalty when there is no doubt to their guilt. If there is doubt whatsoever, people should never be given the death penalty. I don't know why death penalty proponents have not insisted on this already. It throws the whole concept in the gutter with few examples of innocent people are sentenced to death. Right now the majority of America supports the death penalty with a mere 15% of the population strongly opposed to it. The government does make a lot of mistakes but if only people who are irrefutably guilty or those where there's proof they are guilty, they've confessed and want to die, what harm does it do?

Repeat offenders should also be sterilized. You say the right has hypocritical faith in our government. I say the the left has a hypocritical stance on climate change if they don't want to reduce our population at every chance they get
