Noone but one is in the conversation, Jokic is walking into his 3rd MVP with ease.

That Derrick White POW was a surprise but if you look at his numbers for just that week and what a great job he did of basically replacing Smart and JB at the same time he deserved it. Other players may also have deserved recognition but it's cool to see a guy get it who may well never get it again. But then again he wasn't just playing it off his mind completely beyond his normal ability. Just that it was the best he can possibly play played for a solid week.

A guy like Tatum shouldn't have haters. He never creates drama of any kind on our off the court and basically does everything he's told to do to the best of his ability. As a basketball player he still needs to get better at reading the defense so that he gets less turnovers. He can still be turned into a negative by a double team. But he's basically a guy that any team would love to have and every coach except possibly Phoenix would at worst have as the team's second option. While also counting on him as a defensive stopper on any player 6'10 or shorter. Yes Jokic is running away with mvp right now but an elite defender that averages 30 points 9 boards and 4 assists for the best team in the NBA deserves elite status.

As a side note Ainge took a lot of crap for not breaking up this team and making a big trade. It was a pretty popular narrative a few years ago that this team wouldn't be a title contender without making a big trade. Now it looks like Ainge deserves some credit for realizing the Tatum/Brown combo can work for a title contender.
