I spent 6 days in county jail for some bs and when I looked out of my cell onto the main floor - it was a sea of blacks.. 1 or 2 white faces stood out like sore thumbs.

It's still very sad for me to this day - there were guys in there that had Obama's charisma and others that looked like professors but they were actually meth addicts and had domestic issues - most of them will be stuck in the system for the rest of their lives because that's what the system does.. It overpolices blacks and puts them in the system.. 1 in 3 blacks have been in the system at some point in their lives.

The problem stems from a massive operational flaw in police departments - they patrol cities with hundreds of SUV's as if we're savages in 2023 that need to be monitored at all times - they patrol with hundreds of SUV's as if they catch crime in the act, when they don't - it's a googleable fact that cops don't catch crime in the act, so why do they patrol around as if they do?..

So the patrolling is a massive waste of time and taxpayer dollar.. Since they don't catch crime in the act, they're forced to pick on the low-hanging fruit, aka trespassers, loiterers, weed-smokers, and traffic violators, aka poor people, aka minorities..

Picking on blacks in this way and profiling say 1000 blacks for minor traffic stops or infractions will result in a few extreme cases where an unarmed black guy gets murdered - so the few dozen murders each year are symptom of the real problem of profiling and a flawed operational model that picks on poor people by needlessly patrolling the city for low-level non-criminals..

The ultimate effect is an economic one - police departments have glad-handed their way to half the city's budget to pay for their SUV's and patrolling model, while also reducing GDP by reducing discretionary income of citizens (fines for traffic violations, loitering, etc) - the private sector (private security) should take care of these issues, which would provide jobs.. So there's all kinds of positive economic effects of changing the flawed, patrolling model of police departments - police departments are currently a massive drag on the economy but no one seems to realize it, certainly not our leaders in government that prefer to fund this flawed model rather than divert funds to the 120,000 unsolved murders, financial fraud, or mental health..

The solution is a change in the operational model to a fireman approach, aka when someone's home is broken into, the cops will shimmy down the pole and head to the scene..
