Didnt make any improvements with the Cavs his first three years until Lebron arrived.

Lebron gets to the finals and went 6 in 2015 without Irving (and Love), then went 7 the next year with them both back. That's literally a one game difference. After Irving left, Lebron took a hideous roster BACK to the finals. The Cavs basically just didnt miss him at all.

Meanwhile Boston went farther in the playoffs the year Kyrie was out than the year he played.

With the Nets they seemed to lose more WITH Irving than when he sat, as long as KD played.

Now the Mavs have been looking pretty beatable since they got him, albeit in a very small sample size.

Why does he not seem to matter to the results ever?

But Kyrie Irving will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason, and multiple league sources indicate he’s expecting a max salary in July. (https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10066844-what-are-nba-insiders-saying-about-kyrie-irvings-longterm-future-with-the-mavericks) Based on the NBA’s current salary cap projection of $134 million for 2023-24, Dallas can pay Irving up to $272 million over five years. But will they need to go that high?
