They have a 14-47 record. What's there for anyone to talk about them?

LeBron and Kyrie are both ball dominant and they never worked out either. Great post. Thanks for sharing.

Not to defend Irving too much but isn't that team pretty bare side from the two stars? Interior defense is probably bad no?

who is honesty gonna take Irving after this failed experiment results in probably a 1st round exit and Mavs wont want to give him the max?

Hes burnt too many bridges.

He should have played out the year with Brooklyn. This was a backfire move.

Teams will be lining up for him don’t kid yourself. The nets are a train wreck and hung Kyrie out to dry over that idiotic anti semitism rubbish. Good move getting out of there, they’ll be in the lottery for the next decade..

thats not how teams are seeing it lol.

He abandoned Brooklyn and his impact on the Mavs has been negative so far. Its another team that wont work out.

And youre telling me teams will be lining up for him? No chance.

No-one other than the Lakers, and that's if Lebron pushes for him in the summer. Even then, Kyrie hasn't demonstrated that you can trust him with a 4 year deal. He needs 'minimum number of games' clauses in any deal he signs, unless the team just wants to piss away money.

Guy is getting older and has had a few major injuries that have significantly diminished his athleticism, I expect him to be washed in a few years.

Missing the playoffs would get the Lakers to hit that panic button. I doubt he'll be in demand at max money but Lakers and maybe another team or two will be after him. Regardless of what happens he can average 25 so there will always be someone willing to roll the dice.

Mavs have a +9.6 Net Rating with Kyrie on the court lol. He's only been a negative in 1 game and that was vs. Lakers. His production is as good as it's ever been.

There's alot of guys who can drop 25 and be less of a headache though, that kind of scoring isn't special anymore, not in a league with 40+ 20ppg scorers. You can get VanVleet or resign D-Angelo( depending on how he shows the rest of the year) and save some cash for what Kyrie commands and he doesn't have the self-awarness to think that signing him at less than maximum isn't a big risk. Kyrie is individiually better than those two but I'm not convinced the Lakers win any more with him than those guys if you can also sign a decent defensive role player and have better chemistry/camraderie. There's something to be said for those intangibles and Kyrie has killed every lockerroom he's be in since leaving Cleveland. That's not to dismiss what you're saying, someone will have enough dumb money and desperation to think that this time......THIS TIME......it may work.

The reality is, barring some unforeseen blockbuster trade the Lakers are going to soon be in for some really lean years like we saw post-Kobe and before Lebron and subsequently AD showed up.
