View Full Version : Wiggins out for 6th game in a row due to ‘family reasons’

I’m gonna go ahead and predict that ‘mental well being’ and other ‘family reasons’ are gonna be the new excuses for load management in the NBA. Not saying that’s what Wiggins is doing but it seems odd.
Or is it in poor taste to speculate on why a professional athlete is sitting out when he could be dealing with real shit? Or does that just come with the territory of being highly paid athlete? Anyway all I know is IT played right after his sister was killed and regular folk like me have to go back to work few days after a death in the family.

Wiggins doesnt seem like the type to fake it.
He does seem like the type that might be down and depressive though.

No poor taste, it is definitely a legitimate question to ask in a profession where guys are making half a million per night to put in a ball in a hoop in a taxpayer funded game.
It is quite possible that the Warriors are hedging abit at this point since Wiggins is their only good/great player that has more than 2-3 years of consistent performance in him.

You're already a known asshole. Being insensitive to whatever Wiggins is dealing with would be par for the course.
28 year-old player in his prime doesn't miss 6 straight games for load management that's a one maybe 2 game thing. This is something serious.

NBA players should tell us directly what's happening to them so that we don't automatically assume it's load management.

The Warriors are entitled to some kind of explanation and it's for them to determine whether or not what he is dealing with is legit. You (and the rest of us on this board) are just a fan and not his employer so if he never tells you anything, deal with it.

None of us have a clue whether it's legit or not, or what's going on, so there's no point in speculating.

Does bro have cancer or something :confusedshrug:

The only people who should know what's going on with Wiggins' personal matters are the top front office management and his direct boss (coach). If it's legit family reasons it could be someone is sick or dying in the hospital.
Either way it's none of my business nor most of any other people's business. Hope all is well for him.

Massive blow if he doesn't return.
But what a massive bitch. Signs a 100+ million contract and decides not to play. There's no scenario that makes sense. Everybody has personal issues. This dude is just a fukkkng Coward.

Team has no chance to do anything in the playoffs unless he's back (healthy & fit)

If the warriors organization is okay with him not playing, then no one should have a problem with it either

strange logic
What’s strange about it? If an employer is ok with the employee missing time for reasons they have been briefed on and understand of what business is it the consumers of that employers product?
When the product is basketball the customer deserves personal information about employees family issues?

WTf man? You dont know what's his situation - he has two kids, say one of them is dying - so he should just shut up and dribble? 100$ or 100 million - it doesnt matter really.

Don't care either. 100 million dollars. Go dribble a fukking basketball.
I know it's nothing actual serious or something every other player hasn't played through. He's just mentally weak and needs a break. Just wait. It's nothing.
Also of course the "franchise" is gonna publicly act like it's fine. In this day with mental health and soft liberal media of course they're not gonna come out and say "our player is a bitch we are not ok with his unexplainable absence". As a "business" they are doing exactly what is expected to appeal to the masses. :facepalm

That's a very good question. Probably a legit 50/50 split.

What if the employer is wrong, what if anyone in charge is wrong. Say he got taken a bag of skittles from him and thus wont pay, but the employer is fine with it.
So we should be fine with it too?
Cmon dude, think.

The rumor about his wife cheating isn't true. She said so herself on Twitter that the rumor is the furthest thing from the truth
