...i'm talking a full NBA game. Mine has to have been 2019 or so... games seem longer and less entertaining, anyone else on the same boat?

1998. I went to one of the games. The only thing I remember is Rebecca Lobo practicing at half time, and Larry Johnson sitting near the bench.

Feb 24 was the last time I actually sat down and did nothing but watch, but I was actually at the game so the atmosphere is obviously different.
Other than that, I usually have it on my ipad or on the tv in the background while I'm doing something else.
I do admit I have less interest in watching these days, but I don't think it's the NBA product itself, it's more to do with me getting old. All the early 2000's NBA is going to look more impressive to me simply due to the fact that I was a teenager.

While nostalgia def. is a thing, I question how much is also the way the game has evolved or transpired
I recall the NBA allowing players to have a personality... there were players in the league that had a niche for a certain part of the game. Whether it was Rodman and his off ball antics, AI for his bringing the streets to the court, Peja because of his sharpshooting or Vince for his dunking. Essentially now, 4 out of 5 players on a team has to be able to shoot the 3 or stretch the floor. We've got a couple of exceptions in Embiid and the Joker but otherwise offensively the league is homogenous.

It's deflating turning on a Clippers game and seeing Kawhi and PG out. Agreed on your take too, though. Players were definitely a lot more unique, today you just look for the longest athlete you can find who can still shoot decently. All other skillsets be damned as far as roleplayers go.

Regular season has become unwatchable.. too many 3s, blowouts, bad teams and tanking.
I remember the playoffs last year wasn’t much better.
Rarely have the time to sit down and watch a whole game now anyway

Edit: I sincerely thought that the title of this thread was 'When was the last time you watched a WNBA game.
As for the NBA. Probably a finals game pre Corona. Warrior vs Raptors game 6.
People on this board who don’t talk basketball are ridiculous.

Basketball is just trash now, not worth watching. Im still stuck thinking iverson is a top 10 player in the league and i heard he retired years ago

I'm a home team guy, I can't remember the last time I watched a complete Bulls game, probably in the Derrick Rose era? I can watch complete White Sox or Bears games but the Bulls haven't been that good in a while and I don't care to watch two teams I don't care about playing a 3pt shootout.

I've only watched highlights since 2019. When Lebron retires I'll start watching full games again. My personal protest against PEDs

NBA culture is drastically different, especially with this generation. Guys are afraid to play through adversity, they don't care about earning their championships, they just want free runs at a title. They're all obsessed with beating Jordans 6 rings, they forget it's not the number of rings, but how he earned them and the adversity he overcame.
The culture has changed with the new generation, they're afraid of having to play through their rivals, so they join them. It would be like McDavid jumping to the Avalanche after losing to them, so he essentially get a free championship.
2nd thing is money, NBA players are getting paid way more and the star players make a lot more money from endorsements and what not. So going to a huge market like the Lakers has it's benefits

Chances are that this is the start of Lebron23 bumping this thread to announce ahead of time when he's going to watch full NBA game.
