Hope the Warriors don’t squander the rest of Steph’s prime, and hope Lebron doesn’t get stuck with this headcase next year either. Completely unprofessional.

That Poole/Green thing has not been resolved. If they are really ok right now he doesn't react like that to not getting the ball on a play. Would also explain how the defending champions could be struggling the way that they are.

The leak really must keep it alive. Everyone in the league says it happens all the time but someone leaked footage of it so it blew up and they probably hear about it on the road to some degree almost nightly.

Would also explain how the defending champions could be struggling the way that they are.I remember him having a similar issue with KD. I don’t recall exactly what happened, but I want to say Draymond intentionally ignored him for a last shot and called him a bitch on the bench. Getting missed on a cut for a mismatch is really frustrating, but there needs to be a level of professionalism. If anyone should be pissed on that play it should be Klay.

Especially since Kerr doesn’t seem to get along with him either.

Draymond Green trade value is difficult to gage. He had been very valuable to the Warriors, their third best player before Durant and the leader of that team for just about his whole career. But to the rest of the league he's a useful roleplayer in the right situation but with a big flaw as a shooter and a potential attitude problem. So let's say he is offered to Boston, who would the Celtics be willing to give up that could replace him as a leader?

Draymond has not been the leader of the team, this is a terrible narrative that people go on about. The main reason he's allowed to yell as much as he can is because Steph allows it. It's more good than bad. Even during the 73 win regular season, Speights said a lot of players were getting more and more pissed off at him throughout the season. That's during the most successful time a team can possibly have, imagine how they are when they don't steam roll.

He's more important than Klay throughout the Warriors tenure despite Klay being a much better player because a lot of his deficiencies are hidden by Steph and Klay. Also not sure what you mean by trade value. He has a player option opt in for 25m this summer. If he doesn't opt in, he's a FA. If he does, it's for one year only. Not sure for one year how much value it has but I don't see Warriors trading him unless this summer ends in a disaster.

The main issue is that defensively Draymond has been kind of trash in relation to what's expected of him. And if he's not great defensively, he doesn't have any value as a player. He's just an 8th role player level on a team. He's showing his age more than Steph and Klay from the old men on the team.

He is by far the most vocal guy on that team. You don't have to like him for him to be the leader.

The post right above mine asks why he isn't traded. Most likely they don want to trade him but even if they do his being uniquely valuable to that team in a way other teams wouldn't appreciate in trade talk makes that less likely.

It’s a “narrative” people got from the players and coaches. And executives too. Nobody pulled it out of the air.

what leak?

Of the footage. The footage makes it far more famous. Opposing fans likely keep mentioning it. Which I’m fine with for the record.

Draymond has the same problem Simmons does in that he’s a nonshooter, but isn’t good enough on the boards to consistently be your best rebounder. The warriors are in a unique situation where they can replicate the spacing of a 5 shooter lineup while running Draymond and Looney, simply because they have the 2 goat shooters. I don’t think any other team can do that, Draymond would be nigh unplayable… like in 2020 when Steph and Klay were injured. So much for those leadership intangibles too. Steph is also uniquely an elite ball handler and shot creator who also happens to be perhaps the best off ball player in the league. I can’t imagine another situation where a pf who can’t finish around the rim or shoot gets to handle the ball this much. Outside of the perfect situation, he’ll just be a worse version of his 2020 self(yikes).

I'm gonna disagree a bit with the Simmons comparison because of their personalities. The clip in OP was bad but generally Green is not a quitter. Simmons seems to not want to play basketball. Imo if not for the huge contract he isn't earning he would have retired. Sometime in that last season with Philly he lost his love to play. Most every player in the NBA would still play pick up somewhere if he didn't have a contract. Simmons would not. He doesn't seem to enjoy it. Green can be a pain in the ass but he still has love for the game. The play in OP stands out because it's so uncharacteristic of him. If Green was poor on a team without showers the team would stick and he would struggle but he would still go out there and earn his pay.

Yea Draymond and Ben are two totally different types of non shooter. Dray takes 2 a game. Ben takes like 7 a season. Dray misses 67% of his threes this season while a good shooter would miss 60. It’s not “Oh my god….” bad. He shoots 33%. 32 for his career. Bad but someone who go isn’t shook when you force it on him. Ben isn’t just a non shooter. He’s a non scorer. He’s not gonna try to score most of the time even when he can.

If Draymond had the body Ben has he’d probably be a 20ppg guy.

Squander the rest of his prime?

They were fresh off a 5 game winning streak without curry. They have a better record without him than with him.

Curry has by far the best supporting cast in the league.

Watching that clip it reminds me of how Dray will cut to the basket to open up a wide open 3 for steph or klay.
