For someone so big and so strong he's just bad at it.

LBJ has 1,658 offensive rebounds in 1413 games over 20 years.

MJ has 1,668 in 1,072 games over 15 years.

Guys?

Because lebron finishes at the rim at like 80% and the game is more spread out than the shitty 90s.

Did MJ do that over 15 consecutive seasons?

Teams stopped emphasizing offensive rebounding a long time ago. I think the Spurs were the first to emphasize getting back on D at the expense of offensive rebounding.

I think most teams have one, two at most, guys who have the green light to go after offensive rebounds. Everyone else is supposed to get back on D.

Wow didn’t realize Jordan was that much better of an offensive rebounder. Pretty crazy. Great thread OP

Also Silver made offensive rebounding a lot less valuable when he idiotically changed the rules so that you only get 14 seconds on the clock after an offensive rebound (even though it’s literally a new possession).

I don't really think he's a bad offensive rebounder.

However, I am interested in why he's such a terrible choker.

Then why did Dwayne Wade average more offensive rebounds per game than Bron? They came in the same year.

Lol at branstans avoiding this when we know they’d be using this stat to prop him up if bran had the edge

Basketball Reference servers crashing right now by Bronstans.

LBJ 1.17

I was told offensive rebounds were not a priority and teams got back on defense. Dwade must have missed that memo.

That's just one of many reasons why Jordan is GOAT while Bronie is fringe top ten.

Right, because .02 rebounds per game is such a big difference.

I wouldn't consider him a bad offensive rebounder. The ball is usually in his hands. He's spotting up and cutting off the ball.

I will say that the traits that make a great offensive rebounder include the following:

- Size (standing reach + weight)
- Good two-foot jumping
- Quick jumping
- Good second/third jump ability

Aside from size, LeBron isn't the best at those qualities.

He doesn't go for offensive rebounds usually. When he played more like a big man in the 2012 playoffs, he led the playoffs in offensive rebounds.

He's a good offensive rebounder, but certainly not a great one. I think we can agree on that.

Never seen someone try so hard at a gotcha moment.

Offensive rebounding isn’t necessarily a strength of Brons. He’s certainly not bad at it.
