They almost beat the Bulls. The Pacers had perhaps their best team in NBA franchise history and pushed the series to a decisive Game 7. Ultimately, the Bulls won out on their home floor, 88-83, in what was their biggest test during the 1998 championship season.

Are you telling me the 2nd 3 peat Bulls are going to beat the 2017 and 2018 Warriors?? They lost to every Warriors team even the 2015, 2016 2019 and 2022 Warriors would beat them.

Not trolling, but I am stating some facts. No disrespect to the Bulls the Pacers 3 points shooting were their main Achilles heel. Pacers didn't even attempted more 3 pointers than the 2015 Golden State Warriors. Bulls were a good defensive team but they had some difficulty defending the three points shot.

True
Jalen Rose was not yet the same Jalen Rose who won the Most Improved Player of the Year.

90's rules or current rules?

Compare the 98 Bulls to teams that are two-time defending champs. Only they could understand the struggle of playing with a huge target on their backs for over 200 games. There is a reason why a three-peat has only happened 3 times since the 60's. It's not just the opponent but also the expectations and the Disease of More (https://getpocket.com/explore/item/the-disease-of-more).

The Pacers were a 10-year organic juggernaut like the Spurs or 11' Mavs - all the contenders were organic juggernauts with all-time chemistry.. It was a league of organic juggernauts competing (parity), whereas the 2000's only had the occasional organic juggernaut that would dominate the league (no parity).
Furthermore, the 98' Jazz destroyed Duncan, Popovich & Robinson (56-wins) and also Shaq's 4 all-star Lakers, while the newbie Warriors barely beat an injured Lebron team.

it was closer to football in the 90's. Now it's like touch football except you can't touch playoffs or not

"less inferior" aside, these are two completely different types of teams under different circumstances. The Pacers were very deep with several guys who could play D and create. The Warriors of course have the best player on the court, and if Klay is going maybe even the second best, with good depth themselves. But the 98 Pacers could slow the game down and get the Warriors out of their rhythm much like the 2015 Cavs did. Only difference is they have far more depth than the Cavs did without Kyrie and Love. Even though there was no one like Lebron.

Maybe Lebron 23 is more Kylosian than Asian, like Drax;
Kylosian
Drax comes from a race of primitives called Kylosian who are considered naïve and hopelessly underdeveloped by the more advanced galactic groups. As a result, Drax is extremely unaware of basic concepts such as metaphors and customs.

That article is deep. I agree with your assessment on the 98 Bulls. They'd been through some wars and it showed. They weren't the same team as the two previous years. No matter what, you lose that edge after you win a championship. Put the same Pacers team against the 96 or the 97 Bulls? And the Pacers probably lose in 5 games.
It's why I don't subscribe to the Pistons/Bulls rivalry that the Pistons only lost because they were old. Because not only did they lose, but they were SWEPT!!!! I'd probably agree that the only reason the Bulls won is due to the Pistons losing their edges if the Bulls needed 7 hard fought games to dispatch the Pistons. The Pacers took the Bulls to 7, but the Pacers still lost.
