it's kinda wide open with many teams that could get on a run and win the West, so they could make conference finals and this could be the beginning of growth towards an organic juggernaut

but it's hard to imagine them winning the conference this year because there's only been 1 conference that was won by a bunch of lesser teams (2000's East)

I don't think they will be too disappointed, they will be disappointed if they go back to their losing roots and missed the playoff next year

Their defense may very well hold up. But even as professionals , experience is everything , and shots that would normally fall , will not.
If they are naïve enough they might go far on a whim... but highly unlikely past the second round.

So the Kings, given their high-octane offense, have a good shot as any and they should capitalize on it. But I see the Bucks as the last team standing once the dust settles.
