I think he'll need to be a dominant scorer at times to win.

He'll elevate Porter Jr. and Gordon more by taking defensive attention away from them, rather than deferring to them.

The West will be won by Denver or Memphis.. Lakers looked real good last night but unlike an expert jumpshooter (Curry, KD, MJ) Lebron's skillset cannot be simply ADDED on top of the current lineup without subtraction/decline from current players.. If AD is the boss and Lebron is a good little 2nd or 3rd option, then the Lakers have equity in the West

And the Nuggets' offense is what can dictate flow and wear opponents down (which lessens the Nuggets' defensive requirements)...But it's a dominant Jokic that will accomplish this and have opposing defenses scrambling, on-their-heels and changing gameplans mid-game... All of this takes away from the opponents' capacity to go off offensively.. It's an attrition battle and only a dominant Joker will win it for his team.

That's a good way to look at it imo..

The 10-assist or passing style needs a dominant scorer to pass to in the playoffs like a Kareem or Wade or AD... And Nash was probably gonna sneak through with Amare that one year but there was a suspension.

Unfortunately, Jokic doesn't have a Kareem, AD or Amare - HE must be that type of scorer when needed in these playoffs.. The passing style of play is just a regular season brand without the dominant scorer to pass to in the playoffs, so Joker must be that guy (scorer) when needed (2nd half and down stretch.... or to keep it close in 1st half vs fast-starting opponent).

Nobody is more defensive than Shaq...well maybe Shaq fans.

For me it's less is Jokic going to win the West and more is Jokic going to win two playoff series cause I think we are going to see a number of upsets in the West.
