https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tv5h5ZFFtww Charles Barkley and the Phoenix Suns choked away a 2-0 led against Houston in the 1994 NBA Playoffs. The Phoenix Suns were the favorite team to win the NBA Championship after Jordan retired in the 1993-94 season. Kevin Johnson was healthy in the 1994 nba playoffs he was injured in the 1993 NBA Finals. Rockets beat the Suns in 7 games with Hakeem Olajuwon leading his team into victory. Hakeem averaged 29/14/4.6 apg/3.9 bpg against the Suns dominating Barkley and the Phoenix Suns.

It was because of Barkley's back. Check his numbers in the 94 playoffs. He was going at >30ppg in Rd1 and over the first couple game vs the rockets. And the Suns were rolling. Then his back injury from that year was started to flare up and his level fell off a cliff. This
article after the game 7 loss tells the story...

Rockets were down 3-2 with HCA to the Knicks as well. Knicks were down 3-2 with HCA to the Pacers both in 1994.

Those Suns teams were really loaded, in my opinion they should have won one title at least.

Offensively not many players were ahead of peak Barkley. Dude could sit at any legends table and would belong.

No one was beating Jordan or Hakeem from 1991 to 1998.

Then you need to watch Seattle sweep them out of the playoffs in 1996

Hakeem was a shell of his former shelf after he was injured in 1996.

Houston would have beaten CHicago in 1994 and 1995. They lost to the Magic in 1995.

Hakeem was a 1x MVP's and 2x FMVP's, and was a better Finals performers than Kobe.

I think that if KJ was fit in 93, the Suns beat the Bulls. I'm even more sure that they beat the Rockets in 94 if Barkley was fit.

Watch games 1 and 2 in that 94 Suns-Rockets series and then watch game 7. Barkley went from being the dominant player on the floor, to barely being able to run the floor by the end of the series, because of his back pain.
