Man losing to the hornets at home is crazy. Pretty obvious they wouldn't work together though

They just rolled the dice with Kyrie, and from what we have seen so far it is not working at all. They both need the ball too much. It's a shame how they are struggling so much to build a team around Luka, though. They are in his fifth year and don't look much of a contender.

Unfair to blame Kyrie...or really, any player on the Mavs. It is not a good team that is built properly to do anything of note. I do think Kyrie/Luka could work in certain scenarios, but this just isn't one from what I've seen combined with simple logic about what type of players you'd need around them.
I've been warning about this for a few years now and sadly, the Mavs seem to be doing what they've done for the last 20 years or so....which is find a way to not give your all-time great what they really need to win deep in the playoffs.
At least with Dirk we got a well-built 2002 and 2003 Mavericks teams that had a real shot at the title in 2003 before Dirk got hurt. The rest of Dirk's career was more or less a mess in terms of roster construction outside of 2011.
For Luka, it's been way worse so far....although similar. We let Nash walk...just like we let Brunson walk. We aren't building organically and to date Luka has had 0 rosters capable of winning a title.
In Dirk's first 9 years....most would say he had 3 rosters good enough to win with. I would disagree, but he had at least 1. Luka is already in year 5 and he hasn't had one. In today's league...I really worry about him leaving...and, honestly, it would be hard to blame him.

Yep.
They are 6-12 overall since the trade.
Mark Cuban can't help himself. That worn out pimp thinks he's much smarter than he really is – at least when it comes to basketball.
Dallas needs to build a team with guys who can play defense, finish, shoot and play tough, no-nonsense basketball around Luka. T
Irving barely wants to play at all, let alone play defense.

Luka and Irving looks like version of LeBron and Wade in 2011 who never plays defense.

Luka gotta develop an off-ball game. That's on coaching and his desire as well as conditioning to do it. His stats will go down but they'll be a better team. He has the body to bully a lot of players.

Miss the playoffs and have a horrible off season.
Starting look like Cuban f*cked up good with the Kyrie trade.

It's hard to completely put the blame the two stars during this stretch. They've been producing at a high enough level, though Luka's declined quite a bit from where he was early on in the season due to fatigue & injury. They have a decent Net Rating (+5 per 100) together on the court and they're +6 with just Kyrie on the floor but the lack of depth & defense around them is making it really hard to consistently win games as they're a -4 with both resting.
The offense overall has improved since the Irving trade so that's not the main issue here (there are problems during crunch time) -- they're 6th in the league as of right now while they were like 8-10ish prior to the trade. Kidd will probably lose his job no matter what because their late-game execution has been among the worst in the league and a lot of it has to do with him just giving the ball to Luka & having him improvise when they could use him as a screener & a roll man with Irving handling the ball instead. Doncic is too TO prone and settles for bad shots in crunch time due to being fatigued.
Before I see the trolls going in on Kyrie, the Mavs are 3 - 1 with him with Luka out with road wins vs. Clippers, Kings & Lakers and he's averaging 28/5/6 w/ only 2.1 TO on 50/39/93 splits since the trade.
They'll be fine long-term IF they get Kyrie to commit and build around the two for next season but that's a huge IF. Cuban was right to take that gamble IMO as they were not on a path to win anything with them fumbling the Brunson situation anyway. Losing DFS hurts bad this season but they can fix that in July.

He was leading the league in post scoring at one point, I don't know if that's still the case. If by off-ball you mean running around screens getting catch and shoots he has neither the speed or endurance to do that successfully. If anything Kyrie would probably be better in that regard but then you're losing some of his on-ball wizardry.

is it 4-10 now?
Just sit one of them out every game and the other, alternate the sitdown between them. So that they make the play-in.

Lakers last year is all I can think of although they were constantly injured.

1963 Warriors with Wilt, Rodgers, & Meschery went 31-49. All were healthy most of the year too.

There were like 8 teams tho.

He probably means not be a cone who just stays in one spot and is completely useless whenever he doesn't have the ball.
