No, your reason for the judge being fair game for the defendant going after publicly is not good enough. Indictment was brought forward not by the judge but rather a grand jury. Why would the judge dismiss the case? As far as recusing goes, that depends on the case and it is not going to work as a blank check if you want a country to live in. If every democrat said "no Republican-appointed judge for me" and if every Republican said "no Democrat-appointed judge for me", there would be no judicial system of balances remaining. Anyways, that is the judge for that district in point.
