Toronto Raptors traded Damon Stoudemire to the Portland Trailblazers In March 1998. Stoudamire was traded (with Walt Williams and Carlos Rogers) to the Blazers for Kenny Anderson, Gary Trent, Alvin Williams, and three draft picks.

Damon Stoudamire was the first ever draft pick in Toronto Raptors history. He became an instant success with Toronto. The problem was Toronto was an expansion team and produced some very bad teams. Stoudamire won the Rookie of the Year for the 1995-96 season. He averaged 19.0 PPG, 4.0 RPG, and 9.3 APG in his rookie year, and followed that season up with a 20.2 PPG, 4.1 RPG, and 8.8 APG sophomore season.

His individual success did not translate to team success for the expansion Toronto Raptors. The Raptors were 21-61, 30-52 in his first two seasons, and were 11-40 when they traded Stoudamire mid-season in 1998.

When Toronto Raptors vice president Isiah Thomas resigned from the franchise, Stoudamire demanded a trade immediately.

Do you think a Stoudamire, Carter, Mcgrady core are a playoffs team in the East??

The real question is: Would the Jazz did beated the Bulls if Stoudamire did played for them instead of Hornacek?

Definitely not.

Mighty Mouse was not so mighty on defense and Hornacek was a very good defender.

Not really their fault. They traded Stoudemire for depth, the front office didn't step in when McGrady was benched early in his career plus he didn't want to stay in Vince's shadow, but I forgot what happened to Marcus Camby

I don't think it was VCs shadow, considering he was gonna be behind Grant Hills shadow. He was supposed to be Hills sidekick.
Not sure what was really going on in Canada. He wasn't even a starter was definitely option 2 by his 3rd season.

Well Vince was the face of Toronto and Orlando is around where McGrady is from so he wanted to be the face of the Magic. Really it was supposed to be a 1A/1B scenario but it never happened

Hornacek was the better player. Pg skills in a bigger body, elite shooter and he defended
