The All-NBA teams will be positionless in the new CBA with a 65-game minimum for eligibility.

This means no Lebron James, Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Damian Lillard, Kawhi Leonard, Anthony Davis, Ja Morant, Kyrie Irving, James Harden, Paul George, Haliburton etc.

Giannis has to play 4 more games with 5 left for the Bucks.

I like it, this will definitely provide some extra motivation for guys to play additional games. Anything the league can do to deter load management.

But on the flipside, we may literally never see Steph, KD, AD, or Kawhi make another All-NBA Team again, which is crazy to think about :lol

The positionless thing is good.

Then again such fundamental changes to a 70+ yr history are sketchy.

Cant compare anything anymore.

I doubt Leonard makes AllNBA anyhow. James shouldn't but the popularity is still a factor.

yea but you could compare how good everyone was relative to their time, now rules such as these make that a skewed affair.

Positionless, I don't like.
Literally 15 guards can make it.
Maybe go front court so we don't gets guys like DeAndre Jordan making 1st team again but to Literally have the option of picking 15 guards is not cool.

I agree with your point regarding positionless selections. I know that we are basically in the most positionless era of basketball, but as you suggested, the All Star model of front court and back court selections would be the best compromise.

The issue is that all nba teams are tied to contract eligibility so eliminating positions so it’s just the best players period helps teams who don’t have to pay people who just make it because their position is weak….

But on the other side removing eligibility from some of the stars above will have worse players make it and be Supermax or designated rookie max eligible. That’s gonna make for a lot of guys in the 15-25 range asking for 300 million the way contracts will be after the new rights deal.

Give and take.

Im so nba'd out

About to be a lot more “stat-balling” (intentionally trying to accumulate stats) now. Gonna be a lot of players still hunting for points down 20 or up 20 (late 4th)to raise their season averages. This has a good chance of backfiring….

It's turning into a pickup game. No position just get ya five best players. NBA supposed to be organized. Imagine if the NFL or MLB went this way of going positionless.

Just wait till a guy needs to make an all nba team for 30 more million on his next deal but he’s also supposed to be load managing on a back to back. This will be regular:

Is it any worse for some guy that only averaged 23 and 5 to get supremax instead of Leonard who goes out there and misses half the season? Either way is a question of protecting the owners from themselves.

I’m waiting for someone to do the legwork for me and draw up all nba teams without these guys:

So I can see who will make it and put a team in a bad spot not wanting to Supermax them.

Whoever it is won't be worse than supermaxing Leonard.
