But the Blazers youth and athletism gave some problems and fits to the Jazz in the NBA playoffs. Portland eliminated the defending Western Conference Champion in 6 games.

Great victory. However, I get the impression that they were so happy with that series win that they didn't really care if they got by San Antonio, as they didn't show up after Sean Elliott's Memorial Day Miracle.

let one of their best players in Shandon Anderson go while they worried about bringing Horny back who was about done at that point. They compacted season because of the lockout was too much for the old Jazz, No load management for Malone and Stockton. It's too bad the Lakers didn't have to go through Utah again though

Watching Karl Malone(the “mvp”) get destroyed like that not even being one of the five or six best players on the floor after hearing about what they would do if not for Jordan was hilarious. One of my greatest sports memories in fact. Right up there with watching Tom Hardaway take apart the Knicks when they got Larry Johnson and thought something was gonna change.

That has to be the least impressive MVP in the history of the league. Just statistically, Malone has literally a dozen seasons more impressive than that "MVP" campaign :lol

Honestly gotta disagree with your 2nd point though. The Knicks were hit with a bunch of BS suspensions after PJ Brown's dirty play on Ward. While they would've for sure still lost, they probably would've given Chicago a better fight in the conference finals.
