This is a fail... international influence should be considered as 'important' to the NBA. Yao Ming, Dirk etc. have a place. Guys like Larry Bird, Bill Russell are afterthoughts even on this very forum.

Jordan is on the list for the international expansion...couldn't really pick a singular player as you have a case for a dozen guys from Yao Ming, Arvydas Sabonis, Manute Bol, Steve Nash, Dirk, and Hakeem Olajuwon. In the end I went with Bill Russell for his Civil Rights work and Rick Barry for leaving the NBA and helping to legitimize the ABA which helped with the merger.
