So what options does the U.S have? Could the people be united or is it possible to split the U.S?

You are right overall though. Sadly politicians seem corrupted but my understanding is this is common throughout history.

Unsure why the U.S is in such a decline otherwise. If it loses reserve currency status, I can see it as falling quickly. Still a superpower...for now.
