Like any advanced stat, +/- requires context and needs to be used properly. In a one game sample it has almost no bearing of actual impact because it doesn't account for the rotation of either team that particular evening. For example I think Lebron played both a lot of minutes with the second unit the other night, and also was on the court at the same time as KAT in the first half, who was completely going off.

However, over the course of a season or multiple seasons these random single game variances tend to even out so it become a little bit more reliable.
