All in all, being without Steven Adams is probably the bigger loss in the playoffs. Based on the potential matchups, they could really use Adams in the paint. There are other players who can offset Morant's scoring loss.

As far as Ja goes he's the guy who can get them over the hump in playoff situations. Guy was legit considered an MVP candidate at points in the season and people act like they're better without him because of a context-less win loss record.

The Grizzlies demonstrated the "Ewing effect" last night. That is when the best player goes down, the rest of the team rallies emotionally around their absence and plays with extra fire. The Grizzlies 3rd string center isn't going to outplay AD again. Especially when the refs give him his whistle back, it's over.

Grizz offense is ugly and stagnant without Ja, they shot 43% yesterday from the field and were reliant on some 3 pt prayers that happened to go in. Memphis shot quality yesterday was awful but they were allowed to knock the Lakers around and onto the floor with no calls. That won't continue.
