2008 if only bc all of Celtics players had been top dogs for a bad team and showed they could elevate scrubs to playoffs or even wcf for kg. Brad Stevens system elevates mediocre ballers like Gordon hayword.

08 Celtics weren't nearly as polished or deep as this current Celtic team whose been building chemistry for many years. Their only advantage would be having KG as the best player, but he would have big problems with this current Celtics defense.

Based on how the 08 playoffs went, they played to their competition. The teams that gave them the most trouble ( Hawks and Cavs taking them to 7) were the two worst teams they faced that run.

Haha they did definitely have the "we are better than you and we know it" mentality which led to some dumb losses

If the old team unleashed Ray Allen to play in the modern style they would be a rough opponent. But any team from that era that played in their normal style would get beat by 20. That's why the whole league has changed. The '08 team starters are more proven, they won a championship after all. And if Pierce House and Allen suddenly start taking 20 threes every game that's one thing.... but that old Celtic defense would not be able to keep the modern Celtics from scoring on any night shots are falling. The the point spasm the modern game has turned into kind of sucks because everyone does it but everyone does it for a reason.
