****ing stat nerds everywhere these days.

Guys like Butler & Kawhi will **** your mom on both ends in style and skill when it's playoff time since they
dgaf about regular season records and individual awards and got the basics down to a T.. and not to mention
the right mentality. These guys are the real people to admire if you respect the game and try to improve.

Why did these young idiots thought Butler was overrated? And not underrated?

I have a feeling there is already a discussion about this. Haven't paid attention.

Nobody that watched those 2020 games thought Butler was overrated except LeBron haters.

And they are extremely low IQ so who cares.

Adebayo was injured. His second option was Duncan Robinson.

Complete joke of a ring.

People change their opinion on players depending on how they're playing.

Everyone hated him in Minnesota. Now he's loved in Miami.

He's not overrated, more overlooked.

He's not exciting, his team is not that good.

He outplayed lebron too, he was much better on offense and defense than the old stat padder, everyone saw it.

There was a poll recently where nba players voted him as one the more overrated players. It's ridiculous.

It's weird because Jimmy was top 5 or at least top 10 in most advanced metrics and had his best RS by a wide margin too yet people kept overlooking what he was doing because of the raw averages. He averaged 26/6/7 on 62/48/85 splits/72%TS post-ASB in 20 games.

Probably because in a league with 40 20ppg scorers his surface scoring numbers( all casuals look at) don't impress. Jimmy steps it up in the playoffs, but clearly if he wanted to he could drop >25ppg during the season.

OP, people who know the game have known Jimmy has been a superstar since his bubble performance. In fact, the "stat nerds" have actually been the ones praising Jimmy.

It's the "eye-test/ppg" crowd that overlooked Jimmy Butler.

Yeah. He needs to have the ball more in the RS and even in these POs (as funny as it sounds after his 56). The Heat are lost offensively when he's not involved in their offense & it happens way more than it should in both RS & POs. He's so damn efficient with it.

I expect the usual detractors will come out soon to point out that hes not actually that good by listing ppg, awards, accolades etc. For some reason, it takes people a few days to weeks to forget what hes capable of and to go back to RS boxscore watching and appeals to authority fallacy in their evaluations of Jimmy.

But we know boys. We have always known.
