Poor guy. Definitely retract what I said can’t imagine having to coach with that weighing on you.
on the bright side he's one of 4 coaches to win coach of the year twice and a championship

Shud have took time out and let his assistant take over… literally one of their job descriptions

Not a long battle with illness either. It's a car accident. No wonder he's coaching like a zombie.
I symphatize with him but this is even more reason he should be fired.
So it was either his own decision to coach the team in an elimination game, in which case it would be highly unprofessional of him since he was clearly distracted.
Or
It was the team's decision, which is plain stupid on both a professional and personal level

Fire him anyway.
His game 4 and 5 coaching performance was abysmal.

Not that he did a great job but the reactions here are completely ignoring the effect of Antetokuonmpo being injured. Without him for a few games and him being less than his normal self for the rest and with Butler playing out of his mind losing to the Heat isn't the upset it looks like in paper.

Coach Bud put his ego on the table.
He was not mentally well enough to coach, he should have let an assistant coach take over.
The bucks had massive leads in the 4th quarters of both game 4, 5 and blew both games in epic collapses.

You have no idea what was going on behind the scenes. You ignore the possibility that the man was simply trying to do his job and/or felt a responsibility as a leader to interpret things as negatively as possible. Not particularly interested in this kind of trolling.

I am not a fan of people putting a stupid game of basketball in front of a close family member dying.

But it's fine to assume that he was doing that? So if Budenholzer steps aside for an assistant his brother survives the car crash? Not making any sense here.

There is no way I am doing any work for anybody if my brother passes away suddenly.
Out of respect for my bro. And the fact that mentally I will not be focused which will hurt the team.
A worthless basketball game has priority here? This is crazy.

That's you. Just because you couldn't deal with it doesn't mean that the next man can't compartmentalize. I know from personal experience from when my oldest brother died, I and all of my siblings still did our jobs. There is no disrespect for him among any of us, we just have jobs to do and we did them. I don't judge anyone that needs time off in such a circumstance negatively but you should understand that everyone doesn't need time off. People die but life still continues and if you have a job to do and you feel like you can do it then there's no reason not to.
