However you describe the term 'consistent', who do you think is the most consistent star of all time?

Jordan. Never had a choke job. There's a reason he's consensus GOAT.

Never choked. Never flopped. Never ran to the competition. Never lost in a finals. The gold standard of consistency in excellence.

Your boy is probably the most INCONSISTENT star of all time. The LeShrivel name didn't just come out of thin air.

This! Also never switched teams to stack the deck and still was losing as the favorite. Lebron couldn't make play in with winniest organization in NBA History with Anthony Davis, Russell Westbrook, Carmelo Anthony, Dwight Howard.

Good call. One of the NBA's iron men.

LeBron.

Karl Malone.

Tim Duncan.

Jordan retired twice for load management. And then at 38 he was awful compared to his standards. How is that consistency?

He retired probably due to his fada being murdered.

OP is talking game to game I'd think and in that case MJ rarely ever had a bad game or series. Where as we've seen plenty of that from other GOAT players.

Because he consistently was the best in the NBA from the mid-80s until he retired at 35. Was always the best player on his team, never lost with HCA, never lost in the Finals. Even a bad series for MJ would be a highlight for most guys, at least when you consider the efficiency for that era. Led the NBA in ppg or total points every full season he played and is also the Playoffs ppg leader & a Finals ppg leader among players who played more than 2 series. Only got outscored once in a series his entire career, as a rookie by 1 whole point.

You can look at any other ATG and they underperformed by a significant margin at some point in their careers, or had a season/Playoff run in their prime where they were well below their averages. Never happened with Jordan.

They started load-managing Duncan in the 04-05 season, he was only 28 by then.

You can talk about MJ's retirement all you want but he didn't miss a single game from 96-98 and played 37-38 mpg in the RS & 40+ mpg in the POs.

20 years of consistent excellence, 9 finals in 10 years, all time leading scorer in the regular season, championship in every franchise he played for. That should be the standard for every GOAT conversation.

You mean he was suspended for his gambling antics, rather..

DESPERATION

This Canadian dingus has been waiting for 25 YEARS for someone to knock Jordan off his perch. What a loser.
