I was hoping for MrFonzworth to make a thread about it, but he didn't

Ding Liren is probably f-ing three whores right now, but I feel so bad for Ian Nepomniachtchi.

People just don't understand how utterly painful chess is. It stimulates the pain of regret. Lifelong regret. Because the stakes are high, and it's all about making the right decision. And not many games, if any, continuously simulate the feeling of making life altering negative decisions. So even though I'm happy for Ding, and MrFonzworth, the whole thing feels like a death.

I chose this image because it's tilted.

The better chess player won, plain and simple.

I was watching the rapids live and knew Ding would win once Ian played Bb1. Hated how Fabi and Hess were jerking Ian off for the move. Only reason it took Ding long to respond is because he was flabergasted such a remarkably stupid move was played.

There's no need to be so vicious towards Nepo, or towards anybody saying anything good about a move he made. That's not good. From what I'm seeing with my strongest engine, if he didn't move the Bishop to b1, then he would have lost the pawn at b2. The chess.com engine, which is weaker, shows Bishop c1 as the top move. And that move, or Qc1 looks like the most obvious move. From what I'm seeing, if Ding takes pawn after Bc1, then he loses the pawn on a4, but not only that, he loses a tempo. Which is the reason why then Ding played Qe8. Instead of getting annoyed, it's better to instead be amazed on how these players are able to see all of these things whether you're rooting for them or not. I mean, it's true that later on that Bishop was pretty much stuck there, but at that point that was the best move.

It slows down for the thinking time used by the players.
