I'm not encouraging anything. But one of the highest paid athletes is a boxer, who happens to punch. That's all.

Also, shouldn't there be some concern within the NBA's marketing machine that the only players on that list are well on the back-nine?

you literally only have to watch the last 5min of any basketball game. quarters 1-3 are boring and usually do not determine the outcome of the game. this is when LeChoke does most of his 'damage'.

I've seen plenty of basketball games decided earlier than the last 5 minutes.

Soccer just bores me because they just kick the ball back and forth 1000 times until somebody finally finds a tiny window and scores. Basketball and football fit me with my ADHD since there's constant scoring and more action.

I honestly never heard of Kylian Mbappe either. I wonder why Dustin Johnson specifically is pulling down so much more money compared to his golf contemporaries, as far as I know he's not winning majors at a greater rate than anybody else, and he's not the household name Mickelson is. Ditto Canelo Alvarez, that seems almost like Mayweather/Pacquiao money.

It’s amazing how disconnected from world sports Americans can be. He and Messi are teammates and had a World Cup final against each other watched by 1.5 billion people. He might well be as recognizable worldwide as prime Jordan right now.

Dustin Johnson I assume just has a massive deal from Liv golf. Also Saudis. They poached a lot of people from the PGA with insane contracts.

It’s not like a moral failing or anything I’m just amazed it’s possible to exist on the internet as a sports fan and have never heard of a guy who had 3 goals in what may have been the most watched sports event in human history. Maybe not in pure ratings because something big enough in China or India could grab enough people to beat a billion but far as worldwide interest? For a single game?

I can’t imagine anything being more watched than a World Cup final of that magnitude. And a game many called the GOAT single game in soccer history.

Just feels hard to avoid with social media and a tv.

what a ****ing fraud this guy is. no standards for him. media ignores all his bullshit. keeps on getting ballon dors while sleepwalking through the french league not doing anything.

football awards are far worse than NBA ones and i think its cause storylines/narratives are easier to craft with the different leagues and "special" competitions like the world cup and other cups, which make weighing the events a little tougher and lead to sensationalized and over-romanticized takes that arent taking a whole season into account anymore.

for example messi getting the ballon dor last year is easily worse than any MVP in NBA history. like not even close. itd be like booker or butler getting the MVP this season due to their round 1.
