Best game 7 performance I've seen in a long ass time. Epic.

Best since KD in 2021

Scored half of his points when the game was already over.

Hats off to him though that it took till game 7 to finally show up

Somebody comparing him to Melo was funny. As a Knicks fan, I have no attachment to Melo. He is twice the player Melo ever was

leaves a bad taste in your mouth with that much stat padding.

Dont even feel like giving him any props on this now. Weird person this Jayson Tatum. Gotta be a special level of insecurity to chuck so much there so he can show he got 50.

Yeah but Steph took 38 shots to do it, way more impressive! Dude must be fuming, for once people were aknowledging him in the playoffs and his record didnn’t even last 5min lol.

At least he still holds the record for most shots taken!

Insane game from Tatum. He has done far more in the NBA than I thought he would coming out of college.

Nah, it easily qualifies as insane, especially for a game 7 playoff game

51/13/5 on elite efficiency, 2 steals, ZERO turnovers.

Great performance, but he shamelessly chased Steph’s record in the fourth. :oldlol:

That being said, I think Tatum’s Game 7 was more impressive overall. He shot more efficiently and did so against a much better defensive team than the Kings.

This is the problem with people not caring about stat padding.

It creates fake narratives.

Tatum had a sweet 42 and then gunned for 50 when the game was over.

Even if he stopped at 42/13/5 on elite efficiency, 2 steals, ZERO turnovers...that is still an insane performance in a game 7.

I am not a fan of this guy ... but he kept the Celtics there in the first half.

Probably his best game of his career ...

just don't like his show boat antic's

today he hit a shot -- they were up by 15 and he yell's out ' OH MY G O D '

With ImKobe MIA Arby has to pull triple duty in the Tatum hating. It would be a praiseworthy effort if it wasn't so stupid and pathetic.

Arbys trying to compensate for the horrible jinx he placed on Philly.

The moment after he made that thread shitting on Tatum, he went off.

And then just had one of the greatest Game 7s ever. :lol

He's got the Midas touch when it comes to hating.

Why is it that Bron haters are the ones who usually make themselves look foolish?

I wrote his playstyle is similar to Melo, more so than Paul Pierce, and that he isn't as dynamic as Kobe/Wade.

It's true. He is obviously a great player, but he just doesn't have the raw physical athleticism of someone like Wade (not to mention Lebron) and he doesn't have the pure skill as someone like KD or Kobe. Doesn't have the elite playmaking either.

People acting as if its some great insult. He's not a champion yet, not an MVP winner, not a scoring leader.

I believe he can win a ring as FMVP, but I very much doubt it's going to happen this year.

No doubt. Lakers were down 1 - 2 and KB came straight from the courthouse & put up 42 on the Spurs in a close game.

I don't think people even understand how insane 42 is for 2004, and he did it vs. a Spurs defense that held teams to 84 points a game (94 DRTG) in the RS.

Tatum had an amazing game though and it shouldn't be discounted because of some of the empty calories (I'd say 12 of the 51 were in garbage time because he makes it 60 - 88 late in the 3rd with a 3). Sixers did visibly quit in the 2nd half but he did a great job of putting them away within a few minutes' span in the 3rd when I thought the 76ers still had a chance to make a run.

It went from 55 - 55 with 11:37 in the 3rd to 57 - 73 with 6:15 left. That was one of the wildest stretches of the season. You thought it would be a fun/close game in the 4th but the Sixers flat out died in the 3rd quarter, even worse than what we saw in the 4th in G6.

It's a game 7, you can't take any chances. Don't Atlanta Falcons it.

it takes years for players to learn , and dominate. Look at Giannis / Joker.
In 5 years we will talking a different story with Tatum.
** big question will Brown stick around ?? He has been carrying Tatum on and off all season , make that last two seasons with his shooting % and defense.
Brown leaves could really impact Tatum IMO.

A 30 ppg player is not carried. Tatum is great. Brown is great. These two facts are not mutually exclusive. You keep on hoping and praying that Brown turns down 300 million from one of the best organizations in the NBA though.

Hmm...

Brown was very anonymous yesterday.

I don't think he should get ahead of himself.

Doesn't strike me as a true first option.
