It's not a conspiracy. They're trying to rope in more than just their core consumer. They're trying to appeal to as many possible consumers as possible.

They didn't foresee the short term sales hit OR as I suspect, they know that they likely won't actually have a sales hit long term and might actually gain more consumers due to more exposure. People will forget about the dramatic shot term nonsense and just go back to drinking the beer they want.

Another discussion to have too is what is society willing to accept versus what they are not.

Look at a brand like Modelo beer. Right after Trump was elected and there was this false perception of White Supremacy and racism that was created by the Media, Modelo started to come out with commercials that solely focused on immigrants and people of color. Literally none of their commercials were geared towards the demographic that drinks the most beer in this country, and that's the White American Male. But there wasn't a backlash to those customers because each of their commercials had a theme of inspiration and hard work and the struggle to find opportunity here in America. And guess what? That's completely acceptable and championed here in America. American society accepts that. American society accepts legal migration and the fight for the American dream.

But Transgenderism? Nope. American society does not accept that and I don't think it ever will. That's the difference.
