Yup. But Kyrie was in the final year of his contract with them and they weren’t going to resign him anyway. Missing games and also publicly criticizing his final shoe that he didn’t have any input on, calling it trash, destroyed any potential for contract renewal.

So Kyrie getting dropped was a formality, he was always going to be done with them, but the Amazon link gave them a smoking gun to come out smelling like roses.
