It was similar to the hand shadow hesi people do now intentionally trying to look like they’re picking up their dribble for a blow by on the contest. It’s basically a shot fake hesi and a lot of the time It actually is a double dribble, but nobody cares anymore.

Of course.

It’s well known the league began overlooking the traveling and double dribble rules once the MJ marketing machine took off and the flashy one-on-one style became a hit with the masses.

The integrity of the game wasnt restored until LeFundamental came along and inspired players to play and win with proper technique.

You have to give dribblers a lot of leeway for smaller players to be competitive. Size matters less and less as the league becomes more skilled overall, but at the end of the day it still a huge factor.

The problem with that is we now see the beginnings of the evolution of ~7 foot pg's. Guys like Simmons, Giannis and Jokic are the first steps in that direction.

He's definitely perfected technique.

How 'bout travelling non-calls? Going by the rulebook and how I grew up playing basketball, 95% of a player starting to dribble is a travelling violation. And they almost always take 3 steps on receiving passes for a layup or dunk. Sometimes 4.

The thing I don't understand is: Why not change the rules? If they are not enforced why have them? It's okay changing the rules. It's not okay having and ignoring them.
