The days of propping up Lebron are over and now the media can go back to reporting on the NBA properly and objectively..
The NBA will be watchable again
It's a great satisfying wonderful feeling to know that the fraud is over

Let’s not get ahead of ourselves. LeBron isn’t retiring next year. There’s 50 million on the table for him to collect.

No way in hell he’s retiring. Barbershop hit it in the other thread that Bron was deflecting and trying to shift the narrative away from the fact he got swept.
Reminds me a bit of 2018 when after game 4 and the sweep he all of a sudden put a cast on his hand and tried to shift the narrative to that he broke his hand having a meltdown after game 1. He was so theatrical about it and kept bringing up his supposed hand injury out of nowhere when no one asked about it at all.

Yes but the media knows that his day is over and he won't win any more titles as the best player - so they'll stop with the propping up and probably won't care as much about getting him more help or stacking the deck by the trade deadline
the entire lebron-prop-up is over.. Now the media will actually cover Jokic, Giannis and the other players instead of not knowing who they are

You don't know how this works. Media covers players who are a popular/marketable. This morning every sports show talk was all about LeBron & the Lakers instead of focusing on Jokic and the Nuggets. As long as LeBron is in this league, he will still get the most coverage because he brings in the viewers and the money. Just look at this board, first page is covered with LeBron topic while everyone ignores Jokic's greatness. And if you didn't know, the media hates Jokic and rarely covers him, which is unfair.
It's a real possibility the Lakers-Warriors series will end up with higher ratings than the actual NBA Finals this year.

Yes but this is the last year the media will cover Lebron like that because this is the last year where Lebron had a chance to win a title as the best player on his team - that window closed this year and it was already a very slim window.. Now the window is completely shut - Lebron can't win another title as the best player, so the media will move off him.

Can we be free of lebron?
Can we be free of WWE?
We just want to watch basketball. This is the first time in 20 years I haven't had a rooting interest and only want to watch to see what happens.

I'm sure him making the WCF and just dropping 40 on a bad foot just reassured everyone he can't compete for a title as the best player, :lol especially considering how inconsistent AD is.
