I knew AD couldn't handle Jokic from what I saw in the 2020 WCF, in that series we had Dwight Howard contain Jokic pretty well. But yea, can't ask LeBron to guard Jokic the entire game with the offensive load he has considering you don't know if AD is gonna show up on that end or not.

he shuda played it out. They could have done better. He didn't guard him enough. Check out the last 2 possessions: Jokic doesn't really want it from Murray w/ Bron on him and Murray v AD. On the game winner, dude just walks by AD and lays it in over shrood. He wouldn't have done that vs LeBron. It's possible that they realized dude hitting step backs wasn't the biggest threat and keeping AD in the paint was most important, but the fact that LeBron LET LA put Hachi on him when Bron is BIGGER and more experienced, after it was obvious they were not going to be successful with their game plan... is sad. Yup. Had AD been somewhat useful offensively, Ham would've put Bron on Jokic for a longer stretch.

From there who knows what would've happened. But Lebron absolutely did a better job on Jokic than anyone else. Certainly better than AD...

LeBron did well against him in stretches. Got some turnovers. And he kept a bit of his ground when Jokic was trying to back him down, but Jokic was on another lvl.

But you're right. No one locked up Jokic. Not even LeBron. They had to help. Even with LeBron on him. And with AD at the help instead of playing Jokic straight up was much better. And Jokic made some crazy shots over LeBron like he did with AD.

That was a contested layup over 2 defenders. AD wasn't gonna foul him in a tie game with 50 seconds to go.

What's worse is that Bran wasted all 24 seconds just to clank a long 2 (which hit the side of the backboard) on the following possession, followed by dribbling out the clock and getting his shit swatted on the final possession. He got shut down by Aaron Gordon :roll: AD was wide open on the final play too and didn't get the ball down the stretch when he had 10 points on perfect shooting in the 4th. :facepalm

It was 2 defenders. Schroder stops Jokic from going straight up which forces him to change his angle and score from the middle. He's sandwiched between two defenders. Tbh Lakers would have had a better chance if Dennis stayed with KCP, which gives AD a better chance at blocking the shot and also gives the Lakers a better chance at the rebound off a potential miss/block. If Jokic misses with how it played out, KCP was right there to get the OREB. If Dennis goes with KCP and doesn't put his hands up to wall Jokic it gives AD a better angle at contesting and/or blocking the shot. He couldn't do much there without fouling Jokic as he would've had to go through his body.
