is Kyrie Irving actually worth a max contract?

Do you think he would take less money to sign with the Lakers assuming they still had LeBron James and Anthony Davis?

Is it worth the Mavericks' trouble and expense to try and keep him?

Mavs will give him the max. They have to. Even if it doesn't work out some other team will talk themselves into trading for Irving. Also, Irving's contract will not be as bad as people think with the cap rise coming up, so he won't be a "max" player for long. It's still better than the Beal contract.

In reality, no way is he a max player with all the stunts he pulled in the past.

But he'll probably still get it.

He's not the worth the max and I highly doubt he'll be a starter in 2 years.

He and Luka can still win a title if surrounded by quality 3 and D guys. Obviously much harder said than done, but worth the shot.


You can't expect Luka to carry Irving and bums like KD did though. Nobody can do that.

Imagine giving money to a player who has PROVEN over and over he will publicly shit all over your organization and sabotage you the minute the ink dries on his contract.

I can't speak on everyone else, but yes, pretty much. Had this since Kyrie left Boston.
