Utah fans chime in.

I mostly stopped watching bball after MJ retired until the Kobe/Shaq Lakers, so can't really recall. It's also not as if the Jazz were on TV often.

Malone at age 38-40 average:

22/9/4 - 45%
20/8/5 - 46%
13/9/4 - 48%

Pretty decent stats, considering the slow pace back then.

Most impressive is probably his run at 39 years old, playing 81 games with 36 mpg. That's some ironman level ish.

Lebron gets compared longevity wise to Kareem, but big men have it easier as they age.

Karl Malone is a better comparison as they're roughly the same size.

Will Lebron be able to match what Karl Malone did for the next seasons?

39 years old Karl Malone was still a top 15 player back then. However, as per Karl Malone's MO, he sucked real bad in the playoff.

Probably a top 20 at age 38, top 30 at age 39 and then a role player at 40.

Probably a top 20 at age 38, top 30 at age 39 and then a role player at 40.

Do you remember seeing him play then, like what was he actually like, along with Stockton?

I remember Duncan in his last season, he was a shell of himself, but that was because of injuries. His year 37 season he was still very good, but couldn't really take over like he used to.
