Probably Carmelo over English? I don't honestly know because I didn't see English in person but it seemed like a lot of SFs in the early-mid 80s (including his teammate) were taking advantage of their height hitting 14 footers in a fast paced game.

Melo was probably more dynamic and complete offensively when things broke down. I see that English's assist numbers were higher but who knows what that means in that environment on an average team.
