View Full Version : Jokic is destroying Lebron's highest PER, WS/48 and BPM for a title run

So he's already satisfying the "stats" component of having a superior peak.
A repeat next year would be a 2nd chip without a franchise player at sidekick - this would satisfy the 'winning" portion of having a superior peak.
Jokic's low hold-time of 4 minutes is the kind of skillset around which championship chemistry, teammate development, and strategy/coaching can be built, thus yielding the highest team ceilings/Finals records

Jokic > Jordan

Jokic is obviously one of the best players of all time. This is why the ring talk is sometimes silly.
Just because Aaron Gordon was the second best player on the team in the playoffs last year and they lose doesn’t mean he’s not all time.

Jokic > Jordan
MJ had higher stats for title run in 91'
So MJ satisfied the stats component of having a superior peak ability, and of course his 2 three-peats are the highest winning peak in 3-pointer history (modern era)

I was tellin people on here earlier this year he’s pretty clearly a top 5 player already. Not cuz of what any stats say, just be looking at how much he’s capable of and how consistently he does it.
Whether or not his team wins a championship or not is immaterial to the caliber of player he or anyone is. But nobody accepts these things until “rangzzz!!!!

I've been saying this for almost three years now...and this is Jokic is having one of the best offensive stretches of all time and pretty easily too. He needs to win rings, but as a "talent", he's pretty much GOAT level - i.e. top ten all time.

Idk I don’t really care about rankings but there are very few who I would say were definitely better. Where he stands on the list will be determined by whether or not he and the squad stay healthy and win more.

He is now, that's for sure.
I'm fully onboard, but I don't think most people realise yet just how good he is right now.

Here's the obligatory retort of his title runs were better by this metric than any of Kobe's, Bird's, and most of the players OP has ranked ahead of LeBron. But after a decade, it's quite clear OP doesn't care about things like this :lol It is simply whatever the argument is at the time that matters. Once Kobe or Bird get brought up, the argument shifts to something else.

Rule changes as well. Imagine him playing against the other elite bigs back in the 90's. Embiid destroyed him head to head and Embiid is basically Brad Daugherty in the 90's.

I feel like a lot of u dudes are just starved for good basketball haha. So many years of individual bball.. like curry wetting and all. It’s been forever since you guys have seen someone impact a game and play old school smart bball without pounding the rock for 14+ seconds. I’m surprised at how wet he is, for sure. He’s def a different type of superstar, but yea he’s amazing, but dudes saying top five, top ten it’s like hmmmmmm.
I’m elated that someone like him, esp as a big, is doing it, but I’d say it more like he could potentially go down as one of the greatest bigs. I think top 5 big would be a very tough but reachable goal if all goes well. If you’re giving him more than that already, you’re slurping.
Td, shaq, Hakeem, wilt, Russell, Kareem… those are guys he’s gonna have a tough time passing even if his career goes well. Like I said y’all forgot basketball due to how derpy shit is now. I do hope it swings back to good bball.
And he really is kinda bad on defense. He really does look like he’s not trying a lot. Lucky for him, not many people in the nba can punish him.
But ye dudes lost me if it’s like and at center for my all time team… jokic. Haha. You forget one thing, which is playing against another atg center changes everything.
Plus I dislike him saying he doesn’t force. U gotta force sometimes or you’re putting that on your lesser talented teammates. He’s def a good center fit for his era, and I guess if he gets the accolades, it’ll be hard to argue against him. He doesn’t have them yet. We shall see.

Just because Aaron Gordon was the second best player on the team in the playoffs last year and they lose doesn’t mean he’s not all time.
And there are plenty of people who can't understand this very simple concept.
