Claims they aren’t looking anywhere specific but we all know Vegas and Seattle are up next. They’ll presumably do both and then move Memphis, New Orleans, or Minnesota to the east.

The expansion drafts will be interesting. If teams can only protect 8 players and look to expose high salary guys there could be some amusing options. Some feelings would be hurt.

Vancouver over Vegas.

Putting a team in Vegas is like putting a team in Disneyland.

Expansion plus the new pretty much hard cap of the second apron….Silver is striding for the parity of the NFL.

Each team having one superstar and the rest role players?

If anything they need less teams, there’s too many shit ones now. Regular season is unwatchable already. They should look at each team having equal odds in the draft regardless of standings, eliminate tanking and make the product better before watering it down even more..

Also that mid season tourney is stupid

Adam Silver is doing magic. These kind of changes will never happen without some political diplomatic wizardry.

- Mid-season tournament
- Hard Cap
- Expansion teams

No wonder Stern trusted him so much. Perhaps we should send him to broker peace in Ukraine and Palestine.

The nba is actively pushing for nationwide sports gambling and wants 1% of the take from all the casinos and sports books. The opposition to gambling isn’t real. They would love nothing more than to get a new arena out there and host the all star game in it.

They have to crack down on players doing it in public but they are pro Vegas as hell.

Vegas is going to go from having no teams for like 70 years to having one for all 4 sports in less than a decade :lol

What? Las Vegas isn't just the strip. There's over 2 million people who reside in the greater metro area. Combine that with the people passing through willing to go to games and it's obvious why a team would be there.

Great idea, dilute a watery garbage product and make it even worse. 15+ppg and 7+boards =75 mil per pretty soon

I actually have been enjoying silver's work as commissioner. The play-in tournament is exciting, much like march madness.

Just like golf or any other sport. It eventually becomes about greed and revenue rather than preserving the integrity of the game. It's the same reason Silver in the KG interview shot down any shot of allowing a more physical or defensive game to return. He WANTS the game to look like high schoolers playing 2k. Same with NFL trying to make the game more like Madden

Do we want a game where physical brute force carries the day or skill?

I played a pick up game a little while back with friends. One guy didn't even know how to play basketball, he was just holding and bumping me the entire time. I can tell you it degrades the quality of the game. You want a physical game but one that operates within sane parameters.
