View Full Version : Horace Grant was weakest 3rd option among good teams in 90's (the only non-scorer)

.

* Destroyed by Vlade & Perkins in the 91' Finals

* Destroyed by Kersey in 92' Finals (and Buck Williams was always a far superior player)

* Destroyed by Dumas or Majerle in 93' Finals

* Destroyed by Aguirre, Isiah & Johnson in 91' ECF

* Destroyed by Starks or X-Man in 92' ECSF

* Destroyed by Price, Nance, Daughtery or Hot Rod in 92' ECF

* Destroyed by Smith, Mason, Starks or Ewing in 93' ECF

Every top team in the 90's had a legitimate scoring option or all-star at 3rd option, while the Bulls had Horace average 9-13 ppg in every big series that he played.. The cast's weak scoring forced MJ to average 5 more points than all the best scorers in history like KD, Lebron, Kobe or West and defeat maximum defensive attention (carry scoring load).

he was a better off ball playmaker than Aguire, Kersey, Starks, Daugherty, Smith and Mason

Horace was great, I found him to be their most impactful defender on a game to game basis in the first three peat.

He was a perfect third best player for that team. Needed the ball very little to have a big impact on the game.

You gave an actual answer to a 3ball thread :applause:

3ball is a troll. Grants' job wasn't to outscore the opposing teams 3rd scorer. It was to play defense, rebound, and hit open shots.

Horace Grant was better than the 2nd option on the 2011 Mavericks and they beat the greatest super team ever assembled. Let that sink in. MJ was great but he never did that. Stay in your lane my friend

That's why Horace Grant's team beat the 1995 Chicago Bulls in the 1995 NBA playoffs.

Horace went 18/11 on 65% shooting while playing elite defense and Shaq was only 24/13 on 48% shooting. Beast mode Horace! :applause:

Weak 3rd option had a better statline than both Penny and Nick Anderson
