BRAWL. Wow. That's one thing about NBA brawls, first of all, you gotta assume whatever happens on the bottom of the pile up is NASTY, and secondly, if you are gonna hold someone back, you need to hold onto them like Mookie does because if you hold their hands, too, they can get blasted. Dudes getting blasted in this cuz their hands are held.

Strange seeing Steve Smith and grant long playing against the Hawks. I think they got traded to the hawks that summer or the following year. I was living in Atlanta back then.

Mookie was a very tough defender, one of the best in the league. He took too many shots for someone who wasn't a great shooter. He took a lot of 3s relative to that era.

I couldn't stand Danny Manning. I understood trading Dominique but not for him. So glad they didn't resign him.

One of the craziest, unknown brawls of the modern era. So many wild elements.

1. Danny Manning committed two flagrant fouls within a short period of time and was not ejected (with a strange explanation that they had to be unsportsmanlike technical flagrants to earn an ejection).

2. Grant Long went for the throat.

3. Duane Ferrell's gum flying out of his mouth upon being choked.

4. Doug Edwards and others from the bench out there swinging and connecting.

5. Alvin Gentry broke his hand after getting flipped to the ground by one of his own players.

Brawls like these are why the league felt a need to really clamp down on things in the mid-90's.
