There's some rumblings about this and I'm not updated on the specifics on salaries and all that.

I do think that now is the time to make a move for Miami. They've been in the finals twice with about the same result.

I don't think Herro would have made a difference except maybe one more win.

You need to go get some firepower to compliment the base you have already. Bam is the future and Butler is 33 and only has a few good years left.

You need to move now.

Personally I think you trade Herro. He's a big name and a good tank commander (entertaining but not that valuable).

Dame? Yeah sure, not a big Dame fan, but he does compliment that team, except that he doesn't play defense.

I do think it's worth it. Dame + Butler + Bam, that's a strong trio. That's enough to be back in the finals.

Miami has the assets for a Portland rebuild...he would basically replace Lowry/Robinson. But I think that for Dame (and CPIII and Draymond) they should look at San Antonio which is a team that can completely dump it's entire salary cap this season and put together a vetern team to surround Weymbe and make a run.

You want Spurs to go for Dame?

I am not sure you want that, why not tank and get some more picks, Wemby isn't going to win them more than 20-30 games on his own.

Because Wemby could be another Oden, or Zion and just break in half in his early seasons. The Trailblazers are likely going to tank next season so trading Damian Lillard for the parade of Spurs bums

You then get either Draymond or CPIII to take team friendly deals sign Reeves and Vincent

He might be a long term guy buts thats spec why not take the shot this season

Dont think Heat have enough picks to trade for dame. Herro isn’t a great asset and likely have to offload lowrys bad contract too

Dame to Miami isn't great unless dame does 2 things

Play defense
Pass the ball

Miami needs to replace Lowry with a solid two way PG in a Mike Conley style and a higher energy Big that can switch and play defense alla Bobby Portis.

Even then they aren't title locks because butler played out of his mind

He might end up in a Harden like situation where he's exposed?

Lowry's contract really isn't "bad" as he only has next year on the books. Depends on semantics, but Herro is only 23 years old...is a proven 20 ppg scorer...and is actually on a nice contract locked in for 4 years...a contract that is going to look great going forward given the salaries that will be coming.

If I'm the Heat...I'm doing whatever I can with future picks, Herro, and Lowry's expiring to upgrade the roster. Retain Vincent, hopefully Strus...definitely not Zeller. If they can turn Zeller into a better backup and Herro/Lowry into one or two needle moving players...they'll be a lot better next year imo.
