View Full Version : I was wrong about Jokic

See I admit when I feel I’m wrong. Do your research. I crapped on Jokic and called him a stat padder and couldn’t win. He proved many of us wrong. He really did deserve MVP.
With Lebron, he proves many of us right and there’s never any consequences for his fans. Jokic didn’t need Anthony Davis or Kyrie or Wade. Murray is great but has never been an All Star. Why hasn’t Lebron ever been able to win with basic talent like Jokic?

Besides AD in the bubble title, Jamal Murray had a post season better than any of Brons teammates in his career.

For me the two biggest annoying things as a Nugget fan are people saying Jokic stat pads and people who don't give him the proper credit for his defense because he doesn't block shots. His rim protection? Fair criticism. Everywhere else? Absolutely elite.
The stat padding thing is just bizarre because the biggest knock on Jokic is the fact that he doesn't care about his legacy/unselfish to a fault/not aggressive enough. He easily could have cemented his 3rd MVP and to non Nugget fans it'll seem like bullshit but he straight up didn't wanna win it. He'll look to pass to the point where it hurts the team. Even now after winning a championship and seeing his reaction basketball is 100% a job for him. He doesn't have that MJ/Kobe or even LeBron mentality. His peak is up there with 99% of the league. Honestly as a Nugget fan I'm not 100% convinced he doesn't just up and retire in a couple of years. I'm not convinced he doesn't have a stretch where he averages 15 points playing selfless when he has the tools/ability to hang 30 still. If Jokic wanted to stat pad and cared about MVP's/stats/legacy .. he would look drastically better. It's his greatest strength and what the Nuggets are built around but it's also his biggest weakness and why his ceiling is top 10 instead of top 3 IMO.

Murray has all-star credentials; that he wasn't voted by fans and others who select the all-stars. The guy shoots the 3 ball at 40%, creates his own shots, has the physical toughness to hold his own against physical D. He scores 20 pts a game; if he bumped that up to 24, he'd be on the team.
Whereas there are no standouts amongst the Nuggets "help", cumulatively they are formidable- they resemble the help on the Bucks who are complementary and physically tough, with length, causing problems on the defensive end and playing "team play" on the offensive end to give just enough help to their star player.
Jokic impressed me as well. Most of us watch our home team players and occasionally see players like Jokic a few times a year. We don't have much to go on. Any center that can score with that efficiency with all that physical contact deserves credit.

LeFraud just isn't that good....its THAT simple
2 of the last 3 years we had Giannis and Jokic win real rings...something LeFraud never achieved in 20 years....
Most fraudulent career in sports history...lucky some of us see it for what it actually is

Dude lol, did you forget Kyrie averaging 30ppg in the finals?
Wade leading scorer in 2011.
Murray is good but he is not even at Kyrie's level yet.

Honestly man, it's true.
I don't care much about Lebron these days, but I care about truth, and for the last 15 years we've been gaslighted into believing Lebron was more than he was.
In reality he is a Karl Malone / Sir Charles level talent, which is still very good, but nowhere near best of the best.

This is 100% true. And some people on here will get very angry about it.

People often react with anger when you challenge the foundations of their worldview, even if that worldview is based on a lie.
You have to give them time to come around and accept the truth.

Lol dude, Murray outscored, out rebounded, out assisted Kyrie's playoff run when Cleveland won a title.
Playoff run.... Not one series. Playoff run, which is what is being discussed.

He can't win the argument, because if he wants to focus on the Finals, then LeBron was better than Jokic, and when you add the context of the opponent, it frankly isn't close. So it's a losing argument for him regardless of the path he chooses :lol

I was 100% wrong too. I still think being a 6th seed or whatever should disqualify you from winning MVP, don't get me wrong, but he truly deserved MVP this year and proved it when it mattered most. It's OK though... in the Finals he ended up getting 2 awards that are better than MVP.
I'm so jealous that the Nuggets were able to find an all-time great player with a 2nd round pick, meanwhile my Suns are struggling even get half of what Jokic brings to the table out of our only #1 pick in franchise history. :facepalm:cry: It's just not fair.
I'm happy for long time loyal Nuggets fans though who had to wait through many disappointments to get here though. Nobody deserves to be a loyal fan of a team who's never won a championship for multiple decades and still never see their team win one. Everyone should get to see their team win at least one in their lifetime. So I'm always happy for fanbases who finally pull it off after so long... just wish my team could finally win one too.
If we cant even managed to get a single chip with Book and KD then we were truly cursed. I believe this makes 15 times where the Suns have lost to the eventual champion in the playoffs, and many of those times the Suns were considered one of the top contenders.... but there's just always someone a little bit better... smh.
I can't believe we were the only team to win 2 games against the Nugs and it was just from the sheer scoring of Book and KD alone, and yet we basically had like probably a good $80 million of our team salary going to waste in those wins with CP3 being out, Ayton being a huge disappointment, and so many terrible bench players being 100% useless. Shit even game 2 was ours to win but of course CP3 got injured as usual, and KD decided to have arguably his worse shooting game as a Sun up to that point. Could have been up 3-1 on the Nugs. Now I gotta imagine what could have been if our team was even at least just a little bit better constructed around KD and Book.... sigh. :ohwell: It probably would have helped not just this year but the past 3 years if Monty Williams wasn't such a bad playoff coach too.
Oh well it is what it is, GG Nugs fans you guys simply had the best team.

Yeah I was one of the few Suns fans who was hoping we traded CP3 not only last season when he disappeared 4 games straight vs the Mavs, but even the year before. I just had no faith in relying on him in the playoffs after our Finals run year where he got injured multiple times and ultimately choked in games 4-5 vs the Bucks, aka 2 close games where Booker dropped 40 back to back. Those were easily winnable games if CP3 even remotely played as good as he usually did. And if they win those 2 games, they would have won the series 4-1. :facepalm
I was never the biggest fan of CP3 to begin with. I do appreciate him helping us get out of the shitshow that was last decade though. He was good for helping us change the culture. But winning it all has clearly never been something he can be relied on for. And I'm still furious at James Jones for taking Jalen Smith 20 picks too early when Tyrese Haliburton literally fell right into our laps. That was one of the most dumb ass draft choices that will haunt us for years.
Haliburton was the perfect pick for us. We were so weak at PG and knew CP3 was injury prone and would decline after a few years, Hali would have been able to get mentored by CP3 and passed the torch to by him. I don't know what James Jones was smoking reaching on Smith AKA a project player projected to go late 1st/early 2nd with a #10 pick... then we gave Smith basically 0 minutes all season then denied his 3rd year team option killing his trade value and had to settle on trading him to get Torrey Craig back who we had just let walk in the offseason. Truly some next level shooting ourselves in the foot by James Jones.
I was cool with the KD trade, but the team just has too much salary going to CP3 and Ayton at this point. They need a major roster re-structure this offseason... if they try running it back with minimal changes, we're f*cked.

Jokic is honestly on a level that hasn't been seen since Shaq 3 peat run
No LeBron playoff run has ever been like this ... Did Jokic even have a single "bad" game these playoffs?
