If they’re getting Ralph Sampson level predraft offers they need to take it but we all know they won’t. Nobody wants to look stupid to history. The rockets look stupid not trading Sampson for #2(Jordan) and Drexler so they could pair them with their #1(Hakeem) but nobody knows the gm who turned it down.

84 draft the Blazers offered Drexler and the second pick they used on Bowie for Ralph Sampson. Rockets would have had picks 1 and 2 to draft Hakeem and Jordan together to go with Drexler. The Rockets effectively turned down Jordan and Drexler for Ralph Sampson after his rookie season.

Sampson was better as a rookie at the 5 than when he moved to the four. Drexler and Dream were college teammates so it would have made a lot of sense as it did a decade later. Chances of this kid staying healthy and living up to the hype are very slim. He's too tall
