Who'd you rather have as your franchise player? Ignoring all injuries and off court issues.

bigs are hard to find , really good bigs are super hard to find.
Patrick was a super star.

Never forgot when he left college , and he was hitting jumpers with ease ,, and I am going like oh-wow this dude has it.
Knicks never really built a team around him , IMO so his talents were wasted until the Knicks got into the finals , and Ewing was injured.
(does this sound like what is happening in Dallas?? hahaha)

Iverson was probably the most elite street baller in the history of the league... he busted a gut on every play.
I keep saying to myself when is this guy going to quit ?

Plan and simple one of the greatest 50 all time players.
But even being special , how many big's are top 50 compared to wing players...

There was a stretch in the 80's where we had Sampson coming out in '83, Olajuwon in '84, and Ewing in '85. It was awesome.

Both georgetown folks but i'd take iverson. At least he doesn't have a 0-2 finals stain on his resume. :confusedshrug:

Technically, they're both 0-1 in the Finals. Ewing didn't play in the 1999 Finals.

Ewing is one of the oft-overlooked 90's stars caught in the wake of those Bulls teams. IMHO they make the finals in 92 and 93 if they hadn't run into Chicago at the peak of their powers, and I think the physicality of the Knicks may have proved the difference vs either the Blazers or Suns those years. And even though Hakeem outplayed him in 94, game 7 was decided by six points with Starks going 2/18. Pretty much flipping him with Mad Max in that game probably ends up in a Knicks title.
