I honestly believe Dune was underrated, the quality of the cinematography, acting, and story adaptation was spectacular and second to none. 2022 will be hard to top off considering most films are trash now.


I have all of these 3 films on blu-ray. With Batman currently being in my PS5 ready to play at the click of a button.

Damn,... I forgot about The Batman.

that movie had a few flaws... and I originally left the theater feeling disappointed.

But I've watched it a few times since on HBO Max... and the movie does qualify as a masterpiece.

such a great scene.

they really nailed down the role of the riddler. funny how DC can get their villains down real good but Marvel has trouble with making their villains palatable. with the exception of Thanos.

i was always a big Nolan batman guy until i saw this film, i really enjoyed the noir tone to it. i think it was risky going that route especially with that cast, but it came out stupendous. it's now one of my favorite films of all time.

Dune's cinematography alone earns it a top spot, but all the other components made it really well executed. You should give it a shot.

Maverick was just as good if not better than the first. there's always the "never going to be as good as the first" stigma, but this leaves no doubt that it at least matches the intensity and thrill of the first one, maybe even overtakes it. classic action film done in 2023.

I almost put down Pig as my 2021 film instead of Red Rocket, but I thought two smaller Nic Cage films was a little excessive. Red Rocket was hilarious though, such a great illustration of narcissism.

Anyway if you are even remotely a Nic Cage fan you need to watch Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent. While the entire movie is about Nic Cage... its also a totally selfless performance, since Nic and his career are the butt of almost all the jokes, and Nic lets his superfan Pedro Pascal (who is the real star of this movie) steal every scene.
