His conditioning, durability, and motor is definitely number one. Joel needs to be able to give a consistent effort on both ends of the court for four quarters.
He also needs to find a shot he can go to besides his jump shot. It's a problem when the earth-bound Al Horford routinely blocks your shot. A simple jump hook and drop step should suffice. A shot over the shoulder and released high. He has the strength, soft touch, and footwork to develop this. Tim Duncan should be the inspiration.
He settles, though. Banging inside is tough work. It comes back to his lack of conditioning which influences his subpar motor.
