Screens often make a major difference in the game.

We saw how the Nuggets and Jokic in particular screened to free up shooters.

We see how Draymond screens to free up Steph and Klay for wide open 3's.

Screens make a difference in the game.

It's an undervalued facet of the game because we don't measure it and in life, we value what we measure.

In particular, it is a crucial part of team offense (not individual offense); and team offense needs to be more emphasized.

Whenever anyone suggests a change, the default response is no since we are invested in the status quo, yet I think if people dwell on it, they'll eventually realize that if it impacts the game, it should be counted.

They are measured; it's just not found in the basic box score. You can find statistics for screen assists, various touches, and more on NBA.com.

Damn! Check this out.

Joel Embiid ball screens for Harden:

- 20.6 screens per game
- 1.22 PPP (points per possession)

Regardless of how the playoffs turned out, they were the best PnR duo probably since... I don't know, Nash and Amar'e? You have to factor in the volume as well as the efficiency.

Rudy Gobert ball screens for Conley:

- 13.1 screens per game
- 1.21 PPP (points per possession)

Rudy Gobert ball screens for Edwards:

- 9.3 screens per game
- 1.12 PPP (points per possession)

The PPP numbers are for overall team offense. Conley was a big addition for them; he works well with Rudy. Edwards has the same deficiencies (playmaking) that Donovan Mitchell had.

Yeah but what about off ball screens? Is that taken into account? Warriors run screens for all sorts of movement to open up their shooters.

It's just overall team possessions where Draymond screens for Curry. So, yes: it includes off-ball screens. The Warriors score 1.28 points per possessions on possessions that involve at least one Draymond screen on Steph.
