The Los Angeles Lakers reportedly have no plans to lose Austin Reaves this offseason, even if it costs them a significant amount of money.

According to NBA reporter Marc Stein, the Purple and Gold "are a lock to match any offer on Reaves." That remains the case regardless of whether another team gives him a maximum offer sheet in restricted free agency of approximately $100 million over four years.

Oklahoma City Thunder
Detroit Pistons
Orlando Magic
Atlanta Hawks

This is a no brainer and hardly even newsworthy, of course they will, 25M/yr is practically nothing by today’s standards for a player of Reaves’ age and caliber. Russ Westbrook was making 45 million last year to be the worst player in the league and Brad Beal was making 45M to sit 40 games for a tanking team.

Teams should be flinging offers at Reaves and forcing the Lakers to use as much of their cap on him as possible. Even still theyre gonna get a bargain.

I’m guessing the Lakers are putting this out there to deter rival bids. Would be funny if it had the opposite effect

But what if someone offers him more than $100 mil? Will the Lakers still match?

If the Lakers were smart, they'd dump Lebron's horrendous contract, but I, for one, enjoy seeing the Lakers keep dead weight around and underachieve.

I heard the max he can get is clear to 100 mill for 4 years

He's a good player, but I'd think twice before signing him for that much.

He's a hooper. Reminding me of what I thought JJ Reddick would be in the NBA but he's got more size and sneaker athleticism.

Reaves is a 17 5 5 type glue starter. Overpay but lakers could deal woth that over Pay on a 25 year old smart decision making guard
